$100 Day of the Event

We invite you to shoot in the upcoming RBGC Scholarship Program Sporting Clay Shoot which will be conducted Saturday, October 5, 2019. The shoot will be conducted from 8:30 AM until 1:30 PM.  It is a 100 round, 15 station competition conducted on the RBGC Sporting Clay range.  It will be a “shotgun start”: everyone will start at the same time, each group will be assigned an initial station, and will then rotate to the next one.

Awards will be based on the Lewis Class System and lunch is included.  Participation as a shooter is $75 if you register on or before September 28th, and $100 if you register Sepember 29th thru the 5th.  It is an open shoot so non-RBGC members are welcome. Businesses and individuals are also encouraged to sponsor or underwrite raffle items and targets for $500 or individual shooting stations for $100 each.  Sponsors will be recognized with signage at the event and in the club bulletin which reaches 1,800+ people.  All entry fees and sponsorships are tax deductible. Please join the shoot, bring a friend and help make more scholarships possible. It will be a fun day for a good cause.

The River Bend Gun Club Scholarship Program

RBGC awards scholarships to the sons, daughters and legal wards of RBGC members in good standing who have been members for two or more years.  The award is $1,000 per year for four years, provided that the parent maintains their membership and the scholarship recipient demonstrates each year that they are full time students with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher.

All students entering accredited undergraduate or graduate college/professional-technical schools may apply.

This award has been given to 28 students since the RBGC scholarship program was initiated in 2004. The total value of the scholarship awards to date is in excess of $100,000.

The ideal candidate possesses the aptitudes, demeanor and motivation to successfully enter and complete a college or an accredited professional school program.  Thus far 100% of RBGC’s scholars have completed their programs and graduated.  The ideal scholarship candidate is also one who knows and can support the second amendment and who will represent the shooting sports in a positive manner.

The Scholarship program is financed by member donations in conjunction with the annual dues, member grants in their wills, by RBGC club donations and by fund raising events
